Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev visited the Troyan Monastery, where he was welcomed by His Eminence Archimandrite Stefan, the government information service announced on its official Facebook page.
The Prime Minister familiarized himself with the condition of the western wing of the Holy Monastery. Vasil Levski's refuge was there, and today there is also a museum dedicated to the Apostle of Freedom, which is visited by many people. The west wing was built in 1865, has not been renovated since then and needs reconstruction to continue to be accessible to visitors.
The Prime Minister has been informed that the renovation project has been approved and renovation activities can begin if funding is secured. Currently, the Holy Monastery of Troyan receives an annual subsidy of BGN 200,000 for capital costs.
