We will strengthen the police presence in predetermined places on the election day on the 9 June.
This is what the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Kalin Stoyanov told journalists in Malko Tarnovo, BTA reported. According to him, until now, more than 200 reports of violations of the electoral legislation affecting the election campaign have been received in the structures of the internal department. Stoyanov added that 80 pre-trial proceedings have been instituted, and within the framework of today, operational actions against vote-buying have been carried out by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Veliko Tarnovo.
No new ways in which criminal vote-buying schemes operate have been identified, the election campaign is going smoothly. Stoyanov added that the number of signals received is comparable to that of previous elections and there is no significant increase.
