After years of waiting, Bulgaria expands its border points with Turkey. Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev pointed out that they are working on the idea of an expressway connecting “Lesovo” with “Captain Andreevo“.

Together with two cabinet ministers, he launched a project to expand all points between the two countries.
„An expansion of this point is foreseen here, which has two aspects - one of the existing point itself, and the other aspect is the construction of a second terminal,” said Glavchev.
„All three crossing points between Bulgaria and the Republic of Turkey will be expanded, because agree, if we only expand here, the plug will also appear above Romania on Danube Bridge 1 and 2 or Serbia. This is the start of a project of the "Customs" Agency. for the expansion of all checkpoints”, added the acting Prime Minister.
„MRRB will ensure the connection between the two points – “Lesovo“ and “Captain Andreevo“ with an expressway, so that in case of heavy traffic, both can be used equally”, said acting regional minister Violeta Koritarova.
At the end of his visit to the region, the Prime Minister learned how the “green border“ with Turkey. 70 percent fewer attempts to illegally cross the Bulgarian-Turkish border over the last year, reported the acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
The inspection was also attended by the ambassador of Turkey H.E. Mehmet Sait Uyanak, the Minister of Internal Affairs Kalin Stoyanov, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Koritarova, the director of the “Customs” Georgi Dimov, as well as the director of the Main Directorate “Border Police” chief commissioner Anton Zlatanov.
