After this conversation, Zlatanov filed a blackmail report with the former special prosecutor's office. An investigation began, Yavor Zlatanov's home and office were searched and numerous gold coins and money were found, which were seized as physical evidence.

A few months after the beginning of the investigation, the gold coins were returned by order of the prosecutor Dilyan Deyanov, but not to Yavor Zlatanov, but to his father, who claimed before the Anti-Corruption Fund that the gold coins were already loaded into the trunk of the special prosecutor's office in the parking lot car of the then spouses Petyo and Lubena Petrovi. Iliya Zlatanov also says that the two have appropriated the property and business in “Izamet”.
