After completion of public discussion, on June 25, 2024, by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) submitted a draft decree of the Council of Ministers on amendments and additions to the Regulations for the structure and activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with a proposed change to increase the total number of employees of the Ministry by a total of 1,732 employees.
This was announced by the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Kalin Stoyanov during the parliamentary control, quoted by BTA.
Of these 1,732 units, 1,264 are for the security of the regional "Border Police" directorates, 266 - for the security of refugee accommodation centers, and 202 - for the security of the Main Directorate "Fire Safety" and protection of the population”, explained the minister.
With the entry into force of the changes in the Regulations, the phased appointment of employees will begin in accordance with the possibilities for conducting competitions and trainings, he pointed out.
Kalin Stoyanov explained that the amendments to the Regulations are in connection with the Law on Supplementing the Law on Administration, adopted on March 28, 2024, which created an opportunity to increase the number of personnel of the Ministry of the Interior.
