President Rumen Radev handed GERB-SDS the first mandate to form a cabinet. The folder was received by the candidate for Prime Minister from the party Rosen Zhelyazkov, who immediately presented the structure and composition of the Council of Ministers.
The lecturer in the department "Media and Communications" at the New Bulgarian University, professor Dr. Rosen Stoyanov emphasized in the “Interview in NOVA News” that the actions of GERB-SDS are intended to show a request for leadership. But whether this composition will be adopted depends on the parliament.
„It is a completely different issue that we are in an extreme deficit of leadership. As the circumstances of the results of the last elections progressed, you saw what happened to the BSP, there were also resignations on the right, as well as the appearance of subjects in the parliament, where it is not known who exactly is the leader,” said Prof. Stoyanov.
„Unfortunately, objectification in this case is almost impossible, but the fact is such. Some persons from the proposed Council of Ministers are familiar, others – recognized. We can argue that this is a "Borisov 4" kind of government, but not with him as prime minister. It had to be done in this situation – to propose composition and structure, as well as to go to that body which alone can apostolate whether to be or not – parliament”, he claims.
There are no surprises or unknown faces in the list of names proposed by Rosen Zhelyazkov. Among the proposals there are currently active ministers. Prof. Dr. Stoyanov allowed the possibility of having ministers from the DPS in the cabinet.
„Maybe we didn't forget about Maria Gabriel, she just disappeared. When you are not the public space, it is as if you are not there. What is the reason, I guess at some point she will share”, noted the professor.
