The Temporary Commission for Drafting the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly re-voted and rejected the proposal that MPs should not receive remuneration during election campaign for parliamentary elections.
At its previous meeting, the commission agreed that for the period from the opening of the pre-election campaign for elections for people's representatives until the convening of the newly elected parliament, the deputies should not receive remuneration and should not have the right to use official cars, specified "Nova TV".
The proposal was made by MPs from the defunct parliamentary group of “Majesty”. Today, the committee returned to the texts again and rejected them with two votes "for" and none "against". and six abstained.
Previously, the proposal was not accepted according to the financial rules of the Parliament that the remunerations be charged from the day of swearing in by the people's representatives until the day of the opening of the pre-election campaign for elections for the next National Assembly. This necessitated a revision of the already adopted texts on salaries.
Tsveta Rangelova from “Revival” indicated that she had received inquiries as to whether this text not to receive remuneration during the election campaign does not contradict the Constitution, which states that the work of the National Assembly is continuous. In addition, she noted that during the previous election campaign there were two extraordinary meetings.
Chairman of the temporary commission Anna Alexandrova (GERB-SDS) proposed to re-vote the already adopted proposal for non-receipt of salaries for the period of the pre-election campaign, as the way in which the MPs' remuneration will be calculated has not been accepted.
