This is what the municipal councilor from “Vazrazhdane“ warned at a briefing. Deyan Nikolov. He reported troubling information about the trading of influence that takes place in the Municipal Council of the Capital Municipality.
„You know that we excluded municipal councilors from the group of “Revival” 8 months ago. At the time when there was an offer addressed to us to head the Metropolitan Municipal Council, I was having a conversation with one of those excluded from the group. He told me to think carefully, because a chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council can make between 20 and 100 million in one term, positions in municipal companies are also offered – in the boards of Toplofikatsia, in the Center for Urban Mobility, etc., and the alternative is for our group to break up.“, Deyan Nikolov told journalists.
Nikolov has already provided this information to DANS and the Economic Police. He also called on the services and the Prosecutor's Office to report themselves and start an investigation, because it is a question of trade in influence and corruption on a particularly large scale.

This is the second part of the deal that unblocked the work of the Metropolitan Municipal Council 6 months ago, and this is the price for several groups to be either completely taken over or split. At the moment, we are witnessing the fact that GERB has a majority in the Metropolitan Municipal Council, because they have sold positions in municipal enterprises.“, the municipal councilor from “Vazrazhdane“ also commented.

He emphasized that from “Revival“ they have always been in favor of specific, precise and transparent competitions with clear criteria to select the boards of municipal companies, having given their proposals to the other political groups
