“We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) will make an attempt to form a cabinet, but it will be failed by themselves. Their whole campaign was botched and they finished third, now coincidentally they are second. Disagreement within the party turns into a misunderstanding,which can lead to the collapse or further consolidation of this coalition. What makes me pessimistic is the apparent absence of any plan. This is what political scientist Lyubomir Stefanov commented on in the program “Bez pretentii” on Darik Radio. According to him, if we do not take advantage of this extraordinary chance that the PP-DB are getting to form a cabinet, there is no chance to he also received the third mandate.
“They were somewhat angry, they didn't want to be in opposition, but they were put in it. Now they are just getting used to this role and DPS suddenly surprised them around the corner. They are again in a position where something depends on them, I don't know if they are ready for this move”, said the political scientist.
Stefanov noted that the role of the president is currently balanced.
“Radev clearly had some “richer” information to wait with the handing over of the second mandate, which in this case turned out to be a good move”, said the political scientist.
According to him, the political problem in DPS, which led to the splitting of two camps in the party and the exclusion of deputies, is not only because of Delyan Peevski.
“To say that Peevski is the problem is unjustified and redundant. It is a problem for certain institutional levels in Bulgaria and abroad. If everything depended on one person, then we are not talking about a representative of democracy, but about another type of government.
