A fire near the village of Mikhiltsi threatens the outermost houses of the settlement, the mayor of Hisarya municipality informed BTA Iva Valcheva. She informed that currently the police and the mayor of the village are notifying the residents of the area. People were evacuated from two inhabited houses, but there are many uninhabited ones.

Yesterday, several reports were received about four fires in the lands of the villages Pesnopoi, Mikhiltsi, Ivan Vazovo, Otets Paisievo and Sarnegor. Fire department teams were immediately dispatched and a request was made to the Ministry of Defense (MoD ) for the involvement of two helicopters in extinguishing the fire. Crews from the 24th air base in Krumovo participated in the extinguishing for three and five hours. The two helicopters made 21 and 52 approaches and dropped a total of 145 tons of water, the Ministry of Defense announced. The fire covered a wooded area, and at times it went down to the main road Plovdiv - Karlovo. Dozens of volunteers, firefighters, employees of the State Forestry, military personnel joined the fight against the fire.

Fires also broke out yesterday in other regions of the country, in some places a state of partial disaster was declared.

According to her, two or three of the destroyed properties were habitable, and shelter was provided for their residents.
