From 13:00 to 21:00 on Monday the movement of trucks over 20 tons is restricted in the regions of Ruse, Shumen, Veliko Ruse Tarnovo, Targovishte, Razgrad and Silistra. This was announced by the “Road Infrastructure” Agency. The ban is imposed due to the expected high temperatures above 35 degrees.
In the Ruse region, the movement of heavy-duty trucks will be restricted on the road I-2 Ruse - Razgrad in the section from the exit of Ruse in the direction of Razgrad at the 12th km to the 37th km, as well as on the road I-5 Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo from the Ruse exit at the 6th to the 65th km. Traffic will also be stopped on the I-5 road in the section from the city of Byala in the direction of Ruse to the city of Ruse.
In the Shumen district, traffic will be temporarily restricted in a section of the "Hemus" highway. from the 311th km near Bukhovtsi to the 376th km near Nevsha, and on the road I-4 Targovishte - Shumen, in the section Cherencha - p. in “Belokopitovo“ /from 250th km to 258th km.
On the territories of the Shumen and Razgrad regions, heavy goods vehicles will be stopped for movement in the section of the road I-2 Ruse - Shumen – Varna, and in the regions of Silistra and Shumen along the first-class road I-7 Silistra - Shumen.
In the regions of Veliko Tarnovo and Targovishte, the traffic of trucks over 20 tons will be temporarily restricted on road I-4 Sevlievo - Veliko Tarnovo - Targovishte between the villages of Novo Selo and Cherencha /from km 101 to km 250/. Heavy goods traffic will also be stopped in a section of the first-class road I-5 Polski Trumbesh – Veliko Tarnovo - Gabrovo from the region of Polski Trumbesh to Debelec /from the 65th km to the 115th km/, as well as along road II-55 Debelec – Limit – Gurkovo, in the section from Debelec to the village of Mishemorkov Khan.
The suspension of heavy goods traffic in certain sections of the republican road network in the afternoon hours, when the temperatures are the highest, is to minimize the risks of deformations of the road surface and to protect the life and health of travelers, the API adds. During a traffic stop, HGVs will wait outside the roadway at designated locations without impeding other road users. The restriction does not apply to motor vehicles transporting perishable food, temperature controlled cargo, live animals and dangerous cargo.
