About the resignations of the leadership of the Commission for the Regulation of the notices insist from the Consumer Protection Association. The reason is that during the fiery inferno in the village of Voden, the BG Alert warning system did not work, reports BNT.
"The KRS, who should be the first to know why the BG Alert system in Voden did not activate, waited for a full 12 days to pass after the fire and then sent an email to the mobile operators asking them where they have coverage in the area" ;, the Association indicates.
The Voden fire of July 17, 2024 affected 35 houses, of which 15 burned down completely. 53,000 acres of dry grass and 3,000 acres of forest were destroyed.
"Despite the scale of the disaster, the people of the village did not receive a warning by phone, but instead the church bell rang for the coming horror,", commented Peio Mayorski, president of the Consumer Protection Association.
"In the age of communications, when the whole of Europe warns the population in crisis situations with messages on mobile phones, bells are ringing in Bulgaria. Apparently we are a century behind", Mayorski also commented.
The leadership of the Communications Regulatory Commission expired last year, but continues to head the regulator.
