The leader of GERB Boyko Borisov is in a meeting with the mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Daniel Panov because of the crisis with the water in the region, reports from novini.bg.
The talks are held at the GERB office in Svishtov. Deputy Nikolay Nankov and the mayor of the city Gencho Genchev are also present.
"When there were problems, we mayors looked to the state for help. Now there is no audibility. We have come this far because of indolence and caretaker governments. When there was a regular government with clear goals, you solved problems, there was a clear vision in terms of water resource management. "Now 3 years there is no relation to the water and sanitation sector," he complained.
In his words, there are projects for millions, but there is no hearing.
Borisov showed a map of the region and drew the so-called "Danube" system, which supplies water to Svishtov, but it is planned to reach Shumen and other settlements. "We have condensed a lot of work. It is important what happens after the election. I want us to seek shared responsibility with other political parties," said the GERB leader.
And he added that he does not want to argue with Toma Belev, who says that dams should not be built, but wants them to find a common solution to solve the problem of aridity.
"Nearly a million Bulgarians may be without water,", warned Borisov.
Currently there are about 400,000, Nankov specified.
However, they agreed with Borisov that their number will increase, especially if it does not rain. And precipitation is not expected.
The GERB leader called for an agreement on shared responsibility with the other political parties.
"All the parties should do something for this million voters," he added.
