A 33-year-old man from the village of Teplen in Hadzhidimov drowned in the Mesta River, reports the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Blagoevgrad.
The incident took place in an area on the village's land in the afternoon of August 25.
The man entered the river to save his seven-year-old son. After pushing the child ashore, the man sank and did not surface.
His death was ascertained by a team of the Center for Emergency Medical Assistance in Gotse Delchev, according to the police, quoted by BTA.
