Vigenin: The familiar old leaders will not be leaders of lists in the BSP-United Left. A new beginning, a new path

"Ninova and her cronies brought the court into party matters. I am convinced that the court will not interfere in the internal affairs of the party. Ninova herself adopted behaviors and actions that led to these decisions. After all, we are BSP people long before it came into being. We choose the party, Vigenin is categorical.

Vigenin: The familiar old leaders will not be leaders of lists in the BSP-United Left. A new beginning, a new path - 1

We are on our way to overcome the problems, we want to focus on real politics. For the first time the left space is coming together, for the first time we have a chance to appear with a united left in the elections. This was stated by MEP Christian Vigenin from the BSP on bTV, quoted by novini.bg.

The party will appear in the upcoming early parliamentary elections in a coalition “BSP– United Left”.

Vigenin believes that the events of the last 2-3 weeks demotivate some of the voters: “After today, however, we will have enough time to bring back optimism, the desire for good results and the left on the political field. Any attempts by former leaders and party members to sabotage the processes will simply not work. The time for the great left unification has come."
He assured: “We are not returning to our old image, although we are uniting with old and familiar faces from the BSP. Around these leaders, known to us from some time ago, there are new people who do not come from the BSP. In our lists you will see many young people from the BSP and other parties. The familiar old leaders will not be leaders – new beginning, new path.”

„Cornelia Ninova and her cronies brought the court into party matters. I am convinced that the court will not interfere in the internal affairs of the party. Ninova herself adopted behaviors and actions that led to these decisions. After all, we are BSP people long before it came into existence. We choose the party”, Vigenin is categorical.

According to him, at the party meeting held over the weekend, there were no doubts about the decision taken to exclude their former comrades.

„Each of us has learned the lessons of recent years. When you do the same thing five or six times, you can't expect any other result. Our results have been falling for the last 6 times, he explained.

About the dramas in DPS, he said: “I would feel uncomfortable if I had to choose between Ahmed Dogan and Delyan Peevski. They are related by blood – one gave a chance to the other, and maybe it's the other way around. We have evaluated Dogan's statements that he was handing out the portions, then the election of Peevski as head of DANS. BSP should not choose between one and the other. Their voters should perhaps look forward, not to the past. We have shown in the past – when there are good things for Bulgaria, we can work with anyone. And now we might not have reached these elections if the understanding prevailed that there was an opportunity to unite to temporarily remove the country from the carousel of elections.”

He is of the opinion that “We continue the change” constantly focus on specific people: “For us, who the prime minister is is a function of what we want to achieve. In the outgoing parliament, we were very close to forming a majority around specific topics, far from GERB and DPS. Let's see the results of the elections and we will do the best for Bulgaria.”

According to him, Ekaterina Zaharieva has a greater chance of being elected as a European Commissioner. According to him, we should orientate ourselves towards departments that could have a real impact on our lives – energy, regional development, agriculture, transport.
