Over 10,000 people are affected by the lack of water in the hunting municipality of Teteven. The problem has existed for years, but since the beginning of August the situation is almost catastrophic, bTV reported.
What is the situation in the most affected village of Glogovo?
In the village of Glogovo, the regime is 20 hours without water. The four water sources of the village fill a common reservoir, from which the quantities are distributed to the houses.
„The flow rate is ten liters in nine seconds, which is terribly small, like a bucket”, explained the mayor of the village, Ivo Milchev.
The fact that there is no water in nature is a matter of course, but it is also lost on the outdated network, people are categorical.
Along with the call to stop deforestation, Teteven Municipality says they have replaced 17 km of water pipes.
„I have signed an agreement with MRRB for another 19 million, which will be given only for water pipes. The problem, however, is that there is no water in the catchments, said the mayor of Teteven, Dr. Madlena Boyadzhieva.
And the village of Glogovo is big – they have a kindergarten and a school. They armed themselves against the land with canisters and hydrophores. Teteven is also in mode. Building a micro-dam could be a solution to the problem, the local authority believes.
