"I am a skeptic and it is very likely that next year we will have a budget deficit of over 3%. It is quite possible that we will start the year without a state budget, this is actually the most likely scenario", believes financier Evgeny Kanev. He commented on the possibilities and conditions for determining the budget for 2025 in the studio of "Crossroads".
„We do not have a regular government and stable parliamentary power. From this point of view, all sorts of speculations are made that serve one or another political force associated with this cabinet. One cannot constantly raise the costs of various strata of society or feathers of civil servants, which are also a heavy burden on the budget at the moment, without reforms. For example, the electronic government, which we constantly talk about, is not yet a fact. Kenya has an electronic government, Bulgaria doesn't," Kanev said. He emphasized that the comparison is no longer with European countries, but with African countries.
"Taxes are always easy to cut and hard to raise. Those who reduced them do not want to take responsibility. "Because we are constantly in election cycles, no one wants to take responsibility, but to raise costs," explained the financier.
"Again, the cabinet must submit a draft budget for the next year by October 31, and this is only 4 days after the elections. It will be conditional because it will reflect the views of the current official administration, which is not representative of the National Assembly," he believes.
