The Central Election Commission (CEC) determined the monthly remuneration of the members of the RIC and the CEC in the country and of the hired specialists for the National Assembly elections at the end of the month.
The monthly remuneration of the chairmen of the RIC for preparing and producing the elections is BGN 2,300. The vice-chairmen and secretaries will each receive BGN 2,100, and the members – BGN 1,900. By law, the pre-election campaign in Bulgaria is 2 months. Thus, the remuneration is multiplied by 2. At the same time, the members of the SIK will take only 234 leva against 5 or 4 ben for the RIC.
The latter have another option to increase their income. BGN 400 will be the one-time bonus for the members of the RIC, who will prepare the election materials, train the sectional election commissions and accept the protocols.
At the same time, the members of the SIC, who have to watch for a bought vote, will hope for 234 BGN.
Apart from these sums, there will also be additional travel allowances for the members of the regional election commissions, whose permanent or current address is outside the town where the RIC meetings are held, novini.bg points out.
The elections are on October 27, RIC members receive a monthly remuneration from September 7 until 14 days inclusive after the elections, that is until November 10.
The CEC also determined a one-time remuneration for the members of the Sectional Election Commissions and PSIC in the country. The chairman of the SEC will receive 275 BGN, the vice-chairmen and the secretaries will receive 255 BGN each, and the members of the SEC – 234 BGN. A bonus of BGN 20 is provided for everyone if they participate in the training.
Those who participate in the preparation of the election premises on the day of reflection will receive BGN 15 each, and those who present protocols and other election documents to the RIC and municipal administrations will also receive BGN 25. The monthly remunerations for the specialists at RIC are respectively – BGN 1,450 for an expert and BGN 1,050 for a technical assistant.
On the day after the vote, collaborators can be brought to the RIC with a remuneration not higher than BGN 250.
