Prof. Chorbanov from ITN: It is not necessary to close the coal plants - 1

We keep the people aware of what is happening in the parliament and that is why with us, all conversations and negotiations take place in front of the cameras. This is what he said in the show "Face to Face" on bTV, the leader of the lists of ITN in Veliko Tarnovo and in Pazardzhik Prof. Andrey Chorbanov.

„There are things that remain hidden not only from the public, but also from the deputies themselves. Leaders have not entered our parliamentary room to secretly discuss agreements or cliques, he clarified and gave as an example the situations in which the parliamentary session is interrupted for half an hour. Then, according to him, some agreements are made, because after the resumption of the meeting, a group of deputies has a ready solution.

The deputy commented on people's disgust and accumulated fatigue in society.

„It is difficult in seven election campaigns within three and a half years to say very different things. What's new is mostly about what we're trying to show our voters – our consistency in actions," he explained.

Prof. Andrey Chorbanov emphasized that the programs of ITN have not changed over time, but there are also things that have been updated in accordance with the agenda of society.

He commented on the work of the 50th National Assembly and the occupation of the parliamentary tribune during the last session.

„When the rules for working in the parliament are not respected, a signal is sent to the citizens that the law can be broken even in the highest levels of power. The last day of work of the parliament was a vivid example of this”, said Prof. Chorbanov.

According to him, such important topics should not have been brought up for consideration at the last moment – such as energy. He specified that points of the rules regarding the quorum were not observed, there was no time for debates and criticism of the proposed changes. Everything that ITN did (occupying the tribune – n.b.) was a consequence of the violations.

„I am too close to “Maritsa East” and being well acquainted with the subject, I will repeat once again – this money would go into the pockets of a dozen companies. Specific companies would be the users of these funds, they would not flow into our economy and they would not reach the miners, he explained.

The leader of the ITN lists in Veliko Tarnovo and Pazardzhik also commented that “Bulgaria is poor in energy resources and what we have must be protected”.

According to him, the so-called carbon footprint, because our country can compensate for it, due to better natural resources, unlike other European countries.
