In order to save the train to the resort town of Hisarya, a group of citizens gathers in protest in front of the station . For half a year, the electrified line has been stopped for the movement of motor trains, and so the tourist town, known for its mineral springs, remains without railway transport, reports Nova TV.
Since the beginning of May, the direct passenger train from Plovdiv does not reach the mineral springs, but drops off passengers at the station in Kaloyanovo. From there, buses take passengers to Hisarya. People resent it because it is accompanied by inconvenience.
"I came to Bulgaria by train 12 years ago. Railway transport is very important for resort towns because it is ecological, fast and promising. If there is transport to Hisarya, the resort will develop. The number of tourists to the city is decreasing more and more, due to the lack of transport", says Varvara Karnauch.
Citizens fear that the line will be closed. In a position to NOVA, BDZ categorically stated that the line to Hisarya will not be closed. It is expected that from the middle of December, the movement of the bus to the city will be restored.
