"Dogan personally prepared Peevski for a long time for chairman of DPS" , Kasim Dahl, former deputy chairman of the DPS
, is emphatic
Kasim Dal, who is a co-founder of the DPS and until 13 years ago was its vice-chairman, but after criticizing the leader Ahmed Dogan for turning the party into a corporation, he was expelled along with several other party members, gave an extensive interview on the YouTube channel “Agenda” hosted by Miroliuba Benatova and Genka Shikerova, broadcast on Thursday (October 31, 2024).
„We did not take sides, we did not participate in this battle. It is not our battle. This is not a battle of ideas, this is a mafia battle, there is no need for us to participate there. The creator, what he created, destroys it”, Kasim Dal explained.
He stated that Peevski is a project of Dogan and does not accept that the honorary chairman of the DPS imputes to society today that “we are all guilty” for him.
„Dogan personally prepared Peevski for a long time to be the chairman of the DPS”, said Dahl.
„Until 2009, when I was in charge of the structures in the DPS, I did not allow Peevski to enter them”, Dahl also revealed.
After that, however, Dogan personally launched Peevski as the leader of the DPS list of deputies in Pazardzhik. And before that, he personally requested that Peevski be appointed Deputy Minister of State Policy for Disasters and Accidents in 2005. in the office of the triple coalition with Prime Minister Stanishev.
At the same time, Kasim Dahl criticized “my friends the Democrats, who with the changes in the Constitution brought Peevski into the game”, referring to the leading figures from the coalition “We continue the change– Democratic Bulgaria”, who in the previous parliament gave Peevski the opportunity to play an active role in the constitutional changes and voted for them together with him, and in today's parliament they are calling for a “sanitary cordon” around Peevski.
„People around Dogan should not be surprised now what happened to them. This is a flower of what happened to us after we were excluded from DPS in 2011. because of our criticism of the president", Dahl also pointed out (then he founded the People's Party "Freedom and Dignity" and talked about the repression against his supporters, many of whom were even forced to leave the country after pressure from the local representatives of the DPS).
Qasim Dahl recalled that he was illegally wiretapped and monitored for 9 months, along with the people who were in contact with him.
In his words, the people who believed in the original cause of DPS, that it would fight for rights and freedoms, were abandoned by Dogan in the past elections.
„He didn't appear anywhere, he didn't go anywhere, they were waiting for him”, emphasized Kasim Dal and attributed Dogan's absence in the election campaign to fear.
The former deputy chairman of the DPS was adamant that everything that happens in the party-corporation must come to light, “but not as they [Dogan and Peevski] remain silent, but to come out and say everything”.
Qasim Dal expressed his immense disappointment that the DPS brand has been stolen, especially because of the thousands of people who at the dawn of democracy put their trust in the party and believed in it.
„We have to fight against all this, but not with lying, not with deceiving someone by stealing some brand. It can't be like that, it's brutal," was his comment.
Sensationally, Kasim Dahl reported that Dogan staged the attack on himself in the NDK. The former deputy chairman of the DPS said that he was threatened, eavesdropped and followed by the services for over 9 months
