The fight against the fire in the sludge dump near the village of Katunitsa in Sadov continues. A 65-year-old pig farmer took responsibility for the incident, who set fire to waste on his property, but the fire spread to the tailings storage facility next door. He was arrested and later released on bail. The local administration insists that urgent measures be taken for full repayment. Otherwise, they will protest, BNT reported.
"We are gassed all the time", residents of Katunitsa complained. The mayor of the village Yurukov said that there will be a protest on Saturday. He added that he does not underestimate the work of the regional administration, but there is no effect on the 11th day.
"The ultimatum is until Saturday, if our problem with the gassing of Katunitsa is not finished at 11:30, we will hold a protest," said Atanas Telcharov - Chairman of the Municipal Council - Sadovo.
"I ask our eyes and your camera whether we should believe or the Crisis Staff," he asked.
Stanimir Dimov from the Crisis Staff explained that time is needed and they are doing everything in their power. New solutions are being sought, they added.
"Apparently dousing with water is not enough".
