I asked for accountability because of the shady allocation of funds without a clear mechanism by which they will be absorbed and how they will be invested in the “Varna“ stadium. This was stated by the mayor of the city Blagomir Kotsev on the air of “Eurocom”.
„I welcome every initiative for the construction of the stadium”, he added.
„I think that people from Varna are extremely observant and smart people. This is investing in a private company. The entry of the state with BGN 30 million into HIM – Import does not mean that this stadium will be built. This also provoked my reaction. I asked for accountability and a reaction erupted from the City Council to curtail my powers. The news from yesterday is that the general meeting of shareholders has made a decision on it, but not yet announced. This confirms that things happen opaquely inside the company itself. From what we hear from the majority shareholder, the capital will be increased by BGN 30 million from the state. 55 million will be contributed by the majority owner”, specified Kotsev.
„We will have to wait two years just to raise the funds. The stadium can be built for another 15 years. Transparency is my main line in the policies I lead. GERD and “Revival“ protect the interests of TIM“, the mayor further specified.
