Taxi drivers are holding a large national protest on November 20. It will be held simultaneously in dozens of cities in our country. The yellow cars will stop working and will hold protest marches on the central streets. The reason is the increase in the price of the mandatory "Civil Liability" insurance.
The industry claims that the increase in the price is between 3 and 10 times, specified by Nova TV.
„We have declared a national protest. We have entered Plovdiv, a request to the municipality and all institutions. "No one answered us," said Diyan Stanev, chairman of the Association of Taxi Drivers – Plovdiv. “Until 2-3 weeks ago, we paid between BGN 300-320, including seat insurance, suddenly it became between BGN 800-900, and some companies offer it for BGN 4,000”, Stanev said.
The protest in Plovdiv will pass through several large boulevards and will reach the highway. It is expected to last about 5 waits.
The Financial Supervision Commission has started inspections. The Commission for the Protection of Competition is self-reporting.
