The Sofia City Court decided to put actor Dimo Alexiev under house arrest after he was caught drunk behind the wheel .
The case is from the night of November 11 to 12 in Sofia. The court's decision can be appealed within three days.
The actor has already been convicted of driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol.
„When I left dinner and realized that it might not be good to drive, I stopped the car, turned off the engine and went to get a taxi, after which the law enforcement came with two patrol cars,“, Alexiev told the court.
He explained that he was sorry and would not want this to be the example he sets for his children.
„I would not want to commit such acts because I have three children and too many things depend on me“, Dimov also said.
His lawyers demanded that he be placed under house arrest or bail. They motivated their request that he is the father of three minor children, one of whom needs medical examinations.
According to his defense, since Alexiev is known in society, he could not hide, bTV reports.
Aleksiev's lawyers accused the prosecutor's office of acting quickly because he is a public figure. For comparison, they gave the speed with which his blood sample came out.
