There is no rift between PP and DB. There are different points of view on how a chairman should be chosen. Yes, it is not normal to not be able to elect a chairman six times. We had a candidacy, but we withdrew it so that another chairman could be elected. Not the entire PP group voted in one direction. This was stated by Ivaylo Mirchev from Continuing the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) in the program “More from the day” according to BNT.
„The PP and I are together in one parliamentary group, but we are separate parties and as a democratic community we have different opinions. Our causes are common. There is no problem with that," he pointed out.
„We called on all the parties after making all these compromises: Let us give up the candidates we have, let us unite around the candidate who can be voted for as the oldest – Silvi Kirilov, so that the work of the parliament could be unblocked, but they did not agree. They offer Raya Nazaryan for the sixth time. What is Borisov counting on, should a meteorite fall?”, the MP asks.
When asked why you did not vote for Silvi Kirilov, Mirchev answered: “Because our votes would not have been enough”.
„Political forces must find a common language, stand behind one candidate. This also applies to PP. People are sick and tired of seeing this inaction in the National Assembly. There must be a reasonable majority to stop the madness in the National Assembly. It's time for the budget. We are even considering the following – before a president is elected, there should be working groups, because we are losing the Eurozone”, warned the politician.
„The only way out of this crisis is for everyone to take a step back and support Silvi Kirilov, so that Borisov does not come out and say: „Govern yourself!”, and then the gender laws and Bulgaria's exit from NATO”, predicted Mirchev.
He commented on Boyko Borisov's words about the broken state. “What is he doing in the Bulgarian parliament then. Throwing out the first mandate, there are no talks with the second and third, which means that the country goes to elections. We cannot afford it for the eighth time in three years. Borisov called me and said they were ready for a meeting. Proposed gen. Atanasov to be the chairman of the National Assembly. I told him that for us the positions are not important, but the reform of the judicial system, the new SJC and the disconnection of GERB from Peevski and his isolation from the judicial system and his influence in the prosecutor's office”, revealed Ivaylo Mirchev.
He recalled that in 2009 Borisov voted in the National Assembly that one particular deputy should not be a member of the anti-corruption commission and specified that it was Delyan Peevski. “By this logic, Borisov is the father of the sanitary cordon. Instead of asking the Constitution, you can ask Ursula von der Leyen how the EPP has put a sanitary cordon around “Revival”. There is no sense in this question, because it is a political action, not a violation of the rights of a deputy.
„We want to change our country. If the second term comes to us, we will act maturely and do what we promised the people. We will talk to everyone without “Revival” and a new beginning and we will look for a generally acceptable prime minister," the PP-DB deputy also said.
