AIKB: We are losing 400 million leva from the merger of holidays - 1

The lost profits from the merger of holidays amount to about 400 million leva, calculated the Chairman of the Management Board of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria Vasil Velev.

In his words, in real production, unlike the administration, when there is no work, there are no profits, reports "Trud".

"From the fact that we do not produce, we become less rich as a society. The situation this year is slightly different, as the European, and therefore also the Bulgarian industries are in the red, i.e. "We have a decline in industrial production, as well as great uncertainty, so most companies closed on the last Friday before the holidays and will open on January 6," Vasil Velev told Euronews Bulgaria.

According to Velev, this is largely traditional, but this year it is also forced because there are not enough orders and work in the industry.

“In the EU, we compete to see who can work less, and in this respect in Bulgaria we are champions. We have many holidays, we also have quite a few vacations, sick leave and early retirement. Out of an 8-hour working day, we effectively work five hours. Despite this, it seems that business and entrepreneurs are doing very well“, he also noted.

Vasil Velev also commented that the draft Budget 2025 does not bode well and it would be reasonable if the one for the previous year were extended by three months.
