The Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova participated on January 5, 2025, in the celebrations in Kalofer, dedicated to the 177th anniversary of the birth of Hristo Botev.

The Speaker of the Parliament was a guest at the National Museum “Hristo Botev“ at the musical and poetic performance “He is alive, he is alive…“ by students from the Sofia University “Hristo Botev“, Kalofer.

In her greeting to the participants in the celebration, Natalia Kiselova noted that Botev is a poet who turned what he wrote into deeds. He gives us reason to be proud, she emphasized. The words of your most distinguished fellow citizen, known not only to Bulgaria but also to the whole world, always resonate, the Speaker of Parliament pointed out.

Natalia Kiselova recalled the verses from “At Farewell“ - “as their brother will become“ and wished us not only to hate strongly, but also to love strongly.

The Speaker of Parliament wrote in the visitors' book of the National Museum “Hristo Botev“ that Hristo Botev is alive and will continue to live as long as we exist as a nation.

Natalia Kiselova also joined the pilgrimage in front of the memorial plaque at the birthplace of Hristo Botev next to the Revival church “St. Virgin Mary“ and the holy spring. The old Athos monastery and school were there, in one of the rooms of which Hristo Botev was born. The Speaker of the Parliament laid flowers at the memorial plaque.

The celebration of the anniversary of the birth of the revolutionary poet was also attended by members of parliament from the Plovdiv region.
