Kalofer is preparing for the traditional men's dance, which will enter the waters of the Tundzha River at exactly 8 a.m. on Epiphany, bTV reports.
By tradition, Kalofer residents enter first, the ritual is performed, then anyone can enter.
The water has been blessed and between 100 and 150 people will enter the Tundzha River for the annual ritual, but before that, Kalofer residents will go to the church of St. Archangel Michael.
It is now a tradition that after the cross is removed, anyone who wishes can touch it, and many children also participate in the ritual.
Preparations for the men's dance began on January 5 with red wine and homemade appetizers. In recent years, hundreds have come to the city of Botev to experience the tradition.
All the guest houses and hotels in the city are usually packed with tourists. The Horo is on the streets of the city, filling every corner of the city with bagpipes and choirs.
