The Minister of Energy will submit a report to the parliament to inform the parliamentarians about the results of the negotiations with Ukraine on the sale of the equipment of the "Belene" NPP. This is stated in a written response by the Minister of Energy to a question posed by MP Martin Dimitrov from the PP-DB, reports "Focus".
We recall that a few weeks ago, the chairman of "BSP-United Left" Atanas Zafirov announced that the reactors of the "Belene" NPP will not be sold. He added that he had discussed the topic with the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov.
"From the very beginning, we were categorical that these reactors were not for sale. They are a key asset for Bulgaria - part of our energy security and economic independence. We are witnesses that the price of electricity is growing worldwide. The world is in permanent energy uncertainty. In this situation, nuclear energy continues to be the most reliable source - stable, cheap and predictable," Zafirov said at the time.
In his written response, the Minister of Energy indicated that the parliament would make a decision on the future of the equipment.
