Hailstorms fell in settlements in Lovech region this afternoon, destroying crops, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.
There are no reports of casualties or flooding.
One of the affected villages is Hlevene. Mayor Toni Kochev summarized the situation there after the hailstorm.
"The hailstones were 10 to 20 mm in diameter. It has been raining for more than 10 minutes, heavily. Whatever got through, everything went away. Right now I am under the vine at home - all its green shoots that got through have been destroyed, they are on the ground. The same goes for the strawberries, the same goes for everything else in the yard.
The sun is rising right now, but the landscape is winter, it has turned white. Everything is covered in ice. There were no car damages, the city was small. No flooded houses".
