The Holy Synod of the BOC expressed support for introducing the subject "Virtues and Religion" in the regular curriculum of secondary schools in our country. A statement published on the Bulgarian Orthodox Church website states that they also support the procession "Virtues and Religion in Schools", scheduled for May 17, reports Nova TV.
„We call on all Orthodox Christians and all people who wish to take part in the procession, by jointly declaring our convinced civic position on the need for the children of Bulgaria to become acquainted with the eternal Orthodox Christian values and moral virtues and with our centuries-old Orthodox culture and history, built on the basis of these values”, the statement says.
The procession will begin with a short program on the square in front of the cathedral "St. Alexander Nevski", will pass along the streets "Rakovski", "Tsar Osvoboditel" Blvd., will pass by the Ministry of Education and Science, ul. „Saborna" and will end at „St. Nedelya" Square.
