Bulgaria continues to support Ukraine's efforts to establish a just and lasting peace. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Their conversation is part of a series of bilateral meetings that Prime Minister Zhelyazkov held in Tirana, where the Sixth Summit of the European Political Community is taking place.
According to Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, establishing peace is not just a way to stop the war in Ukraine and restore its territorial integrity. This is an issue related to the security of Europe and the way in which Europe in the new geopolitical environment will build its security architecture, its defense capacities, Zhelyazkov pointed out.
During his conversation with President Zelensky, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov emphasized the importance of strengthening Europe's industrial military potential as part of the structural guarantees for both Ukraine and the European continent.
The meeting also discussed the progress of the negotiations. The ceasefire is one of the necessary prerequisites for peace negotiations to establish a clear and just peace for both Ukraine and the tranquility of the European continent, the Bulgarian Prime Minister was categorical. According to Zhelyazkov, setting any preconditions can undermine the fragile hope that exists at the beginning of these negotiations.
