The local government in Stara Zagora has been moving in the right direction for the development of not only the city, but also the entire region for years. The expansion of the “Industrial Zone Zagore“ with the project for the Industrial Park “Zagore – Elenino“ is a natural continuation of the ambition to attract new investors. This will not only boost the economic development of the entire region, not only lead to the creation of hundreds of jobs, but will certainly increase your export potential. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Krasimir Yakimov. He participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for the start of the project “Attract Invest ZAGORE – Stimulating economic growth in the region by creating favorable conditions for investors in the Industrial Zone Zagore – Elenino“.
It is being implemented under the Program for Support of Industrial Zones and Parks from the Industrial Park Development Fund. The Ministry of Innovation and Growth is financing the park with nearly 14 million leva, and the total value of the investment amounts to 17.3 million leva.
The project includes the reconstruction of a municipal road, the construction of a new water supply and sewage network, the construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation of internal technical infrastructure, including the construction of charging stations for electric vehicles and others. As a result of the investment, hundreds of jobs are expected to be created.
The Deputy Minister addressed the business community and called on them to be active. “Follow what our ministry structures as procedures and programs in order to apply for them. These funds will not only develop your ideas, but also have the potential to improve your surrounding environment. Only under the PVU and the “Competitiveness“ Program, which MIR manages, we have so far supported over 250 companies in the region with nearly 100 million leva. A few days ago we unlocked a resource of 80 million leva for the digitalization of micro and small enterprises. Very soon we will also open an application procedure for increasing the energy efficiency of companies“, informed Yakimov.
Mayor Zhivko Todorov also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Innovation and Growth for the joint work and the funds provided. “Investments show the right path forward. Stara Zagora has an increasingly better future“, he said.
Under the PVU procedure, industrial parks in Ruse, Targovishte, Shumen, Lovech, Svishtov, Vidin, Sliven, Burgas and Sofia are also being financed with nearly 200 million leva. lv.
