Corruption scandal in "Continuing Change" is a false construct of those who organized the attack on this party, which is resolutely oriented towards Europe, to support Ukraine and to fight corruption. This was said in the program "Face to Face" on BTV by sociologist Prof. Georgi Fotev.
The media repeats things that the court should rule on. If we are serious, from what we have heard, there is not a single thing that can be accepted as a legal fact. There are social, psychological and other facts, but they must become legal, said Prof. Fotev.
In the history of mankind, a reality is always constructed. For the first time, there is a bifurcation of social reality into digital reality and original reality. From the construction of reality comes the heavy responsibility on journalists of what reality is constructed. At the moment, the big event is Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone, he added.
Commenting on the data presented by the regional mayors of "We Continue the Change", who claim that they were pressured by the party leadership, the political analyst pointed out: "I heard this spontaneous press conference of some people who are, to put it mildly, confused. There was not a single legal fact. That's not how it is done. What kind of moral behavior is this to come out and discredit those for whom you are in politics? Political relationships are above personal ones, that's the law".
In response to a question about the resignation of the co-chairman of "We Continue the Change" Kiril Petkov, Prof. Georgi Fotev said: "This is how a politician who is responsible for social values acts. There is a fundamental crisis of political values, of social values, of fundamental values. Human society cannot exist without trust. In his place (Kiril Petkov – ed.) I would act in the same way, because social values must be preserved. Trust is extremely difficult to build and very easy to destroy".
Currently, there is an exceptional need to protect freedom of speech and to protect democracy, Prof. Fotev also said.
