A 10-year-old child has died after being hit by a car, Dobrich police announced.
The traffic accident occurred today shortly before noon in the village of Sarnino, General Toshevo municipality.
It was established at the scene that a jeep driven by a 34-year-old man from the village of Pobeda, at an intersection in the village, hit a child on a bicycle who had suddenly stepped onto the roadway. He was born in 2015 in Turkey. The driver took the child to the Emergency Medical Center in General Toshevo, where he died a short time later.
The driver's alcohol and drug tests were negative.
The scene of the accident is not characterized as a busy road section, there is no concentration of accidents.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
