A package of a number of educational changes enters the first reading in the education committee, Nova TV reports. Among the main ideas - a new subject "Virtues and Religions", a ban on mobile devices in school, a new type of measures and sanctions to improve discipline among students, as well as enhanced training in the Bulgarian language.
Since the publication of the bill, numerous opinions and reactions have been submitted to the Ministry of Education. There were also protests against the idea of a subject "Virtues and Religions". The main criticisms are that the actions on the legislative changes are hasty, and children and parents are excluded from the discussion on whether they are necessary.
In addition to the texts prepared by the Ministry of Education and Science, the deputies in the committee will also consider two bills submitted by "We Continue the Change" and "Democratic Bulgaria".
