An attack on the railway infrastructure this night led to damage to the contact network. For this reason, from 03:25 a.m., the movement of trains in the Kazichene - Musachevo- Stolnik section was suspended.
A contact wire was cut in the area of the Ravno Pole stop between Kazichene and the Musachevo railway station.
This was announced by the press center of the National Company “Railway Infrastructure“.
After the attack, the contact network fell to the ground and caused a fire in dry grass, due to a short circuit. The Fire Safety and Police services were immediately notified, and the emergency teams of the State Enterprise NRIC promptly took action and extinguished the fire with their own means and forces.
After the completion of the investigative actions, which are still ongoing at the moment, teams of the State Enterprise “Railway Infrastructure“ will begin work on assessing and eliminating the damage. Until then, trains will run on detour routes.
The State Enterprise “Railway Infrastructure“ appeals to the points for secondary raw materials not to buy such types of materials and to signal the relevant law enforcement agencies in case of an attempt to transfer them. Their theft threatens the safety and security of train traffic. Such actions not only cause serious financial losses, but also put the lives and health of passengers and employees at risk.
