He visited the new base of the directorate in the village of Mramor, where all the equipment will be collected in order to respond faster to disasters and crises.
Although the buildings have not been used for years, they will soon become a renovated base – with a sandbag filling area in case of floods, a training center and rapid response equipment, the mayor assures. According to him, by the end of the year, the teams will receive two new emergency rescue vehicles, mobile water tanks and backpack fire extinguishers.
BTA recalls that a few days ago a fire broke out in the area of Bankya and the monastery "St. Petka". Four teams of the fire department and the emergency department of the municipality, as well as volunteers from the disaster protection formation of the Sofia Municipality, responded to the scene. By order of the mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev, four water carriers were sent. A fire drone was also launched by the teams of "Emergency Assistance and Prevention".
