It quickly managed to organize, despite the then participation of the Bulgarian Socialist Party in the government. The weapons were sold, not given away, of course. This was said in an interview with Nova News by Vesela Cherneva, who was an advisor to the then Bulgarian Prime Minister - Kiril Petkov.
"At this initial stage of the war, 1/3 of the ammunition was Bulgarian. We did not sell to Ukraine, but through intermediaries, but this is a public secret," she added.
On the case of the probable failure in the GPS system of Ursula von der Leyen's plane, Cherneva was categorical: there was a problem.
"Other planes have also complained about GPS signal jamming. In situations where there is an obvious violation of security, we learn from foreign media, not from Bulgarian or our authorities. Subsequently, we learn about many interpretations of the topic, without a satisfactory explanation of what exactly happened. When she landed in Plovdiv, von der Leyen looked quite scared," she added.
