A tragic accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist on the Plovdiv Ring Road this afternoon. The accident occurred in the area of the junction for the village of Markovo, witnesses confirmed on social networks.
According to initial information, the motorcyclist tried to overtake a column of cars that had stopped to give way to a turning concrete truck. During the maneuver, the motorcycle hit the rear of the heavy truck.
Police and emergency medical teams immediately arrived at the scene of the accident, but there was nothing more that could be done for the injured motorcyclist. The man died as a result of the serious injuries he sustained.
"This road should have a continuous line, which is missing, and a 60 km/h sign. "There are already many intersections, residents, industrial shops and service stations," commented a resident of Markovo on social networks.
The police have not yet released official information about the identity of the deceased and the exact circumstances under which the incident occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
