Efforts to control the fire in the "Rila" National Park continue today.

Late last night, fire department employees, the park directorate and volunteers managed to extinguish the fire on the eastern and southern fronts. Actively burning remains only in the northwest, where nearly 70 firefighters will be concentrated today. Heavy equipment is expanding the clearings under the ridge of "Ismailitsa" peak to stop the spread of the fire in the most difficult and inaccessible area.

A system of hoses and hoses has also been built so that it can be extinguished with water on the ground, Commissioner Valentin Vassilev, director of the regional service "Fire Safety and Population Protection", told BNR.

A military helicopter is also expected after 10:00 a.m. to attack the fire from the air.
