Over 170.8 million square meters of residential and non-residential real estate were put into operation on the territory of the Russian Federation by the end of 2024, which is comparable to the result of 2023.
“This figure is comparable to the result of 2023. In addition, we see good growth in the commissioning of non-residential buildings: 38.4 million square meters - 7.6% more than the previous year“, says Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnulin.
The construction of non-residential real estate is of great importance for the development of the regions of the Russian Federation. This means new jobs, investments, an additional incentive for housing construction and, in general, a full-fledged comfortable living environment, he recalled.
„If we talk only about housing, then 107.8 million sq. m. In addition, they broke the record for individual housing construction - 62.3 million sq. m., which is 6% more than in 2023“, added Khusnulin.
According to Rosstat data, in December 2024 the volume of housing put into operation in the Russian Federation amounted to 13.9 million sq. m., which is 19.1% less than in December 2023. At the same time, on an annual basis, housing put into operation decreased by 2.4%, to 107.8 million. sq.m.
By the end of 2023, over 110 million sq.m. of housing were put into operation in the Russian Federation, the construction industry showed significant growth. In 2022, 102.7 million sq.m. of residential properties were put into operation in the Russian Federation.
