The Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs (SDVR) has uncovered a depot for storing large quantities of marijuana in an industrial building in the Orlandovtsi district. During the operation, 71 boxes and 13 vacuum bags with herbal mass were found, with the total quantity exceeding 150 kilograms - a record for recent months, the SDVR Press Center reported.
"The quantity is indeed quite large and the probability that a part of the narcotic substance was intended for export is high. The tests show that the quality is really good", said Nikola Shopov, head of the group in the Narcotics sector at the SDVR.
When During the operation, two men, aged 64 and 46, both with criminal records, were detained. One of them has already been charged. Investigators are working to identify other individuals connected to the depot, which according to initial data has been operating for several months.
The police specify that no equipment for growing plants was found, which means that only storage and preparation of finished products for distribution were carried out at the site.
Access to the premises was strictly limited, and the warehouse was well hidden in an industrial zone used by various companies.
The investigation continues under the supervision of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office.
