Beware of a new fraud with shipments you did not order

Fraudsters take advantage of the increased online shopping during the holidays, so be careful, FOCUS reported. If you get a call or message about a shipment, but you haven't ordered anything or no one has warned you about it, it's another scam.

They will ask you for money, but you may end up with a drained account because this is how the perpetrators collect debit and credit card details.

In our mobile phones, we already keep all our data - from those that we have voluntarily published on social networks to those that we have saved for convenience through our various profiles. Including debit and credit cards to pay anytime.

Therefore, whoever gets hold of our number can offer us something. From a washing machine we won to a text about a surprise package waiting for us in the mail. In the end, it always comes to the point where we have to pay, and in the end there is nothing.

"Usually these attacks happen at the campaign level. That is, we currently have a campaign with "Bulgarian Post", and over the years we have seen similar ones with transport and logistics companies. Here, the big appeal to all viewers is simply to be careful," Lubomir Tulev, an expert in cyber security, told BNT.

The most misleading at the moment are frauds in which artificial intelligence is used. Victims are deceived using text, voice and image simultaneously. But in their behavior, data thieves are similar.

"There may be grammatical and lexical errors in their speech, but they are usually presented by some institution. There were attempts in which the name of the Ministry of the Interior, the National Revenue Agency, Europol was used to give additional legitimacy and authority to what you get, added Lyubomir Tulev.

In this case, this is not the first fraud in which the name of "Bulgarian Post" has been used. - users should be careful.

The experience of cyber security specialists to find the perpetrators has shown that even if this happens, they can hardly be held responsible, because in most cases they are outside the European Union and the law enforcement authorities in the respective country do not cooperate.
