A 31-year-old man has been detained and his complicity in the murder of a young woman in Shumen is being clarified, it was reported from the press center of the Appellate Prosecutor's Office – Varna.

Pre-trial proceedings in connection with the death of a young woman, on whose body traces of violence were found, are led by the District Prosecutor's Office – Noisy.

We remind you that a report about a woman in a helpless condition, located in an apartment in the city of Shumen, was filed on September 8, 2024 shortly before 4:00 p.m. In the course of the actions taken immediately to clarify the situation, it became clear that a serious criminal offense had been committed.

From the press center of the OD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Shumen announced more details about the crime today.

The lifeless body of a 28-year-old local woman was found in an apartment on the first floor of a block of flats on “Tsar Osvoboditel“ street. During the initial inspection, traces of violence were found.

An operational-investigative team was formed and a thorough inspection of the accident scene was carried out. A medical examiner found lacerations to the woman's neck and wrists. An initial version was built, according to which a 31-year-old man, a friend of the deceased, is suspected of the criminal assault.

As a result of numerous operational and procedural-investigative actions, hours later he was detained for a period of up to 24 hours at the police station in the city. A lot of physical evidence was seized, including a knife.

He is about to be charged. The man has no criminal record, has not been convicted.
