The 19-year-old woman who hit a child in a wheelchair in Velingrad remains in custody for 72 hours, BNR reported.
The measure has been extended by the district prosecutor's office. Her boyfriend, the owner of the car, also remains in custody.
The two were detained by the police for 24 hours yesterday after they surrendered voluntarily. Before that, they had been hiding for more than 12 hours. It is currently unclear whether they were drunk or drugged during the incident, but according to witnesses, their behavior was inadequate.
The disabled child has minor injuries, but is under severe stress.
