Elenka Angelova celebrates 102 years today, writes svilengrad.bg. > She is the oldest resident of Svilengrad municipality. She was born here on July 27, 1922.
The birthday girl received special greetings from the deputy mayor Svetlana Dinkova, who visited her at her home with gifts and a congratulatory address on behalf of the mayor arch. Anastas Karchev.
Elenka is the eldest among five children in the family. Her siblings are also long-lived, but only she reaches the age of a century. Her father Georgi was among the most literate Svilengrad residents of his time. In 1921, he took the railwayman's exams for the railways in Plovdiv and for many years worked at the station in Svilengrad.
Elenka graduated from the Girls' Business School in the city, where young girls are trained in cooking and tailoring. He worked all his life in the local sewing factories. She becomes a sought-after craftswoman and even sews wedding and prom dresses. In 1975, she became a widow.
Today, she enjoys two children - a son and a daughter, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her heirs live in Svilengrad and Sofia.
