Laver Cup turnaround and Team World took the lead against Team Europe after the second day of the Laver Cup tennis tournament, which is being held in San Francisco, BTA reports. Team World was trailing 1:3 after the first day, but managed to turn around after four victories on the second day - Taylor Fritz over Carlos Alcaraz, Francisco Cerundolo over Holger Rune and Alex De Minor over Alexander Zverev in singles. In doubles, the victory also went to the world team, which leads 9:3 after the second day of the tournament.

Fritz made a breakthrough to a 3:1 lead in the first set, which ended 6:3, and in the second he was even more convincing and after two more breaks won 6:2 against world number 1 Carlos Alcaraz.

Earlier, the Argentine Francisco Cerundolo defeated Holger Rune 6:3, 7:6(5), and De Minor prevailed over Zverev 6:1, 6:4.

In the doubles match, the last of the day, the European team suffered another loss after Kasper Ruud and Rune lost to Alex De Minor and Alex Mikkelsen 3:6, 4:6.

The annual men's team tournament is won by the team that first collects 13 points out of a total of 24 within three days.

Teams receive one point for each win on the first day and two points for wins on the second day, with the stakes increasing by three points for a win on the final day of the competition.

Europe has won five of the previous seven Laver Cups (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2024), while the world has won two (2022, 2023).
