Charles Leclerc recorded the fastest time in the first free practice before the Mexican Grand Prix in Formula 1. The Ferrari driver turned a lap of 1:18.380 minutes, BTA reports.
Leclerc overtook Kimi Antonelli of the Mercedes team by 0.107 seconds. Third was Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber), who was 0.380 seconds behind.
The leader in the overall drivers' standings, Oscar Piastre with McLaren, is in fourth position, followed immediately by Gabriel Bartoletto and Arvid Lindblad, respectively.
Lando Norris and Max Verstappen, who also have a chance for the title, watched from the pits, because nine rookies participated in Friday's session.
